CRITICAL: Guilin has NO metro. Guilin West is 12 km from city center (~35 min taxi drive) and 85 km from Yangshuo (~75 min drive). Bus 226 runs to downtown slowly.
Taxis outside Guilin West frequently refuse to run on meters and demand inflated flat prices (¥80–¥100 to downtown, ¥300+ to Yangshuo). Booking a pre-arranged private van with driver holding a name-board is the safest and most comfortable option.
